Who:Originator of the proposal to create a museum of National charecter devoted to the important story of fire-fighting in the UK. Still suffering from a lifelong interest in the Fire Services and an original member of the Fire Brigade Society and the Fire Service Preservation Group. What I have done:An interest maintained through time in the printing and design industry, followed by many years with the Royal Air Force. More recent times have seen me working with the fire, safety and service industries. What I do now:Involved from the begining I have had experience with the trust over the wide range of activity necessary to create the collection that we have acquired to date. For many years I acted as Secretary to the Trust, working to establish the idea and carry it towards fruition. My specialist fire service interest relates to the work and equipment of the German Fire Service. For relaxation I currently turn to post-war aspects of the Royal Air Force, presently working on a history of RAF Wildenrath in Germany. We are entering an exciting, but demanding period of the museum's development, when at last we can look forward to realisation at last.
